Reflexology in Inkersall and Chesterfield
Reflexology is an ancient art that dates back to 2330 BC in Egypt where it was believed that massaging the feet and hands offered pain relief relief and also strength to further help a person back to health. The ancient Chinese also worked the hands and feet to help maintain good health and prevent disease It has only recently been introduced to the Western world (in the last 100 years) and is proving to be ever more popular.
Reflexology is becoming ever more popular, it is an holistic therapy which treats the body as a whole. Its aim is to restore balance, heal and improve state of mind which encourages good health and happiness.
Reflexology is a gentle non-intrusive complementary therapy, based on the theory that reflex areas in the feet correspond to different areas of the body including all the major systems bones and organs.. The application of pressure with the hands to the reflex areas on the feet breaks down deposits, to clear the blockage, helping restore balance within the body. As reflexology is an holistic therapy it works on the belief that the relationship between our emotional and physical aspects are inter connected, one affects the other, stress being a good example. Stress usually starts in the mind with our thoughts and feelings and can then manifest itself in the body in numerous ways such as nervous stomach, headaches and insomnia. The optimal state for the body to heal is when it's totally relaxed.
